10 Melee Build - Challenger And Handler Archetype

With The Power Of The Mighty Sword

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (2)

Surprisingly, a melee build is quite effective in a game that puts a lot of emphasis on guns. Despite what it might sound like, it's a viable choice. Since you'll be relying mostly on melee attacks, you need an archetype that can take a beating, and the Challenger fits the bill perfectly. Its perks and skills are designed to endure damage and improve your chances of survival.

Even though you'll be swinging your melee weapon most of the time, it's wise to have a ranged option just in case. The Handler makes for an ideal secondary archetype with its trusty dog companion. This companion not only excels at distracting and defeating enemies but can also revive you in tight spots. It might not be the best choice for your first playthrough, but it's definitely a fun experiment to try out.

9 Support Build - Medic And Alchemist Archetype

A Healer In Need, Is A Friend Indeed

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (3)

This build is perfect for cooperative runs where you take on the vital role of a support, ensuring your friends stay on their feet and in the action. It's not the best choice for solo adventures, though. In a support role, you want archetypes that provide top-notch healing and support for the team, and that's where the Medic and Alchemist shine.

The Medic is your go-to for healing and reviving teammates when things get tough. They'll rely on you to keep them in the game while they focus on dealing with enemies. On the other hand, the Alchemist specializes in boosting your teammates' defense and resistance, giving them more staying power in the face of danger. If you enjoy playing a support role in other games, you'll feel right at home with this setup.

8 Bow Build

There Is Archery Too

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (4)

A bow build in Remnant 2? It might sound unconventional, but there's a specific bow in the game that you can build around, and it can carry you through any challenge. The Crescent Moon is a unique weapon that offers a range of capabilities, from dealing damage and empowering your arrows to even healing your character when using its mod. However, it truly shines when paired with the Gunslinger and Hunter Archetypes.

Get your hand on the best bow out of the three available in Remnant 2.

The Bulletstorm skill from the Gunslinger not only increases your fire rate and reload speed, addressing the bow's one-shot limitation, but also enhances projectile speed and critical chance. Meanwhile, the Hunter's Shroud from the Hunter allows you to sneak up on enemies, increase all ranged damage, and mark surrounding enemies. This build challenges the notion that bows are ineffective in a game as demanding as Remnant 2.

7 Medic And Summoner Build

Let Them Do The Work For You

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (6)

This build is all about blending the Medic and Summoner archetypes for a powerful combo. The Medic specializes in healing and supporting both you and your party. The standout feature is the prime perk that gives you a Relic charge back after restoring 250 health to allies. With the Summoner, you don't need other players; this perk also applies to the minions you summon, ensuring a steady supply of Relic charges.

While the Medic isn't the best at dealing damage, the Summoner steps in to lend a hand. It lets you summon minions to do your bidding in combat. These minions not only distract enemies but also dish out damage. This perfect pairing makes for a safe and effective build, especially for newcomers or players looking to solo the game.

6 Invader Build

Peekaboo

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (7)

Invader is an interesting archetype that takes some time to master, as it deviates from the typical high-damage archetypes in the game. However, its skills provide a significant advantage for maneuvering the combat field. The first skill, Void Cloak, allows you to automatically Perfect Dodge incoming direct damage for a set period, proving especially helpful against bosses.

This archetype pairs well with various others, but Gunslinger, for increased fire rate and ranged damage, or Engineer, for additional allies to distract enemies and create opportunities for skill reloading, can be particularly beneficial.

The second main skill, Worm Hole, enables you to warp forward, and your subsequent attack deals 300 percent damage. Pairing this skill with a high-damage weapon like the Sporebloom can result in substantial damage output. Don't forget to pay attention to accessories, focusing on those that offer bonuses to ranged damage, firearm damage, or any of your personal favorites.

5 Bleed Build

Let Them Bleed To Their Death

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (8)

A Bleed build seems to shine in any game featuring a Bleed status effect, and Remnant 2 is no exception. This setup revolves around causing Bleed on enemies and letting it deal the bulk of the damage, allowing you to hang back and finish them off with a few well-placed shots. It's a build geared towards heavy damage, requiring the right gear to make it work.

Here's how to get and upgrade the Merciless Long Gun.

When it comes to weapons, the Merciless stands out as arguably the best choice for this build, thanks to its built-in Bleed effect. As for archetypes, the Gunslinger and Hunter make a solid pair due to their seamless compatibility. Their perks are great for continuous firing and a faster reload rate, ensuring a consistent flow of damage with critical hits and Bleed effects. Additionally, you get the perk of unlimited ammo reserves, which is a major bonus. However, don't hesitate to try out other archetypes, as the core focus of this build is on Bleed, and there's no specific archetype that excels exclusively in that aspect.

4 Engineer And Summoner Build

Why Get Your Hands Dirty

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (10)

Why get your hands dirty when others can do the work for you? With this build, you'll have your bidding done by mastering skills in both Engineer and Summoner. The Engineer excels in carrying and deploying heavy weaponry as turrets, significantly boosting your skill damage. This buff not only enhances your heavy weaponry but also benefits your minions when using the Summoner.

Summoning two minions with the first and second skill of the Summoner archetype adds extra muscle to your squad. These minions are great for distracting enemies and dealing substantial damage. In a solo run, you essentially have three additional party members, making it a puzzle for enemies to decide who to target – you, the turrets, or the minions. Either way, they are in for a tough time and you will have a blast.

3 Status Effect Build - Ritualist Archetype

Hit Them Where It Hurts

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (11)

The release of the Awakened King introduces a powerful archetype known as the Ritualist, and it's all about hitting enemies right where it hurts, quite literally. Specializing in status effects and prolonging the damage and duration inflicted on enemies, this build is ideal for handling groups of adversaries. Carefully selecting your weapon is crucial for the Ritualist build. Opt for your favorite armament that deals with various status effects; options like Enigma or Merciless are perfect choices. With the Ritualist, the emphasis is on these effects, so make sure your weapon packs a punch in that department.

Hit them where it hurts!

As for the secondary archetype, if you're leaning towards a more tanky build, the Challenger is a solid pick. If you prefer a more DPS-focused approach, you can't go wrong with Hunter or Gunslinger. Tailoring your secondary archetype to your preferred playstyle will complement the Ritualist's strengths and make you a formidable force against groups of enemies.

2 Weapon Mod Build - Archon Archetype

Mod, After Mod, After Mod

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (13)

Remember when we were figuring out how to unlock that Archon archetype? Well, it's here, and it's a powerhouse. With a strong focus on Weapon Mods, the Archon excels at passively generating them quickly, boosting their damage and speeding up their casting. This translates to rapid Mod usage and even more damage dealt.

Surprisingly, the Summoner pairs exceptionally well with this archetype. The Summoner's skill, Dominator, boosts Mod and Skill damage by 35 percent, making your mods hit even harder. While you have the freedom to choose a normal weapon from the game's selection, it's crucial to pick weapon mods wisely. Aim for something effective against groups of enemies with low Mod requirements for quick reuse. No matter what, make sure to include the Firestorm Mod in your primary weapon because, trust us, use this build, and you'll understand why.

1 Skill Cooldown Build - Invoker Archetype

You've Heard Of Mod After Mod, Now We've Got Skill After Skill

Remnant 2: 10 Best Builds (14)

With the brand new Invoker archetype, the possibilities for pairing with different builds have expanded. Since this archetype focuses on maximizing the usage of skills by doubling the skill charges and reducing their cooldowns, there's no reason not to take full advantage of it with the right equipment. The idea here is to maximize your skill cooldown reduction as much as possible using the Legacy Protocol amulet along with rings that also reduce the cooldown of skills, such as Burden of the Stargazer and Kinetic Cycle stone.

When it comes to weapons, it really comes down to preference since you'll be heavily relying on skill usage. However, we recommend something that deals elemental damage, such as the Enigma, Nebula, Sparkfire Shotgun, or Merciless, mainly because the Entranced damage perk provides a boost to elemental damage.

We've personally found that pairing the Invoker with the Ritualist for its Miasma skill or the Archer to amplify its Havoc skill works best. However, this archetype can pair with almost any build on this list and practically all archetypes available in the game. With significantly reduced skill cooldowns, you'll be able to spam all your favorite skills from any secondary archetype alongside the Invoker skill of your choice.
